Brain Wash Manchester Two, Cord Bar

27/01/2011: BRAIN WASH MANCHESTER

Brain Wash Manchester rocked up to the Northern Quarter for its second installment after a quick venue change to the lovely Cord Bar. Once again, loads of you joined us for some awesome shorts, including The Virgins by NYC filmmaker Jack Turits and Zumbo by Kate Shenton.

Surprise of the night came when our very own Ryan Vernava was awarded best audience award for Worm! His unexpected prize was an original signed print from our friend and BW artist Dave Bell, with some pretty funny photo opportunities (below). We're just glad everyone enjoyed it!

Elsewhere, The Furred Man, fresh from its previous BW win at Curzon Soho, won a close second place - and Deborah Haywood's UK Film Council Short Sis shared third prize with Plastic, the latest stop-frame animation from Leopold Dewolf.

A big thanks to the man in charge, young director Mike Scott, and to Dave for all the DIY artwork goodness. A roadtrip back down to London and a Berrocca for the rest of us. Till next time, guys...!
